For Life Stories
Sharing your story in a memoir or novel is a great way to re-frame the circumstances and find a different perspective on the past. Why write your story:
1) Writing can be cathartic for you, even if you don't wish to publish your story.
2) Taking the whole book through the editing cycles and physical production process can help you let go and free yourself from the emotions wrapped up within it.
3) Creating a book will offer a legacy of hope for future generations, enabling your relatives to understand your story.

This five-step book writing mentoring program will enable you to build a plan and give you support to write regularly to develop the content. You can choose weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions depending on how much support you'd like with the writing.

If you'd prefer to work with a ghostwriter, I can signpost you to a reputable writer. Once your draft is ready, we can add on additional sessions to explore the next steps: editing, proofreading, publishing and book marketing. You'll be ready to submit your story to editors, agents or publishers.
Life Story Memoir Star
Step 1: Define your legacy - what kind of legacy do you want to leave? Choose your genre - is it fact-filled and linked to local history, making it a great memoir? Or is it a story that might work better as fiction, with deep characters and emotional relationships?

Step 2: Identify key events - which events are important to the development of the story? What experiences did your main 'characters' go through? How did those past experiences impact their character?

Step 3: Gather life lessons - what changed as you went through this? Which life lessons did you learn? Which would be valuable to someone else?

Step 4: Understand cultural impact - how did the culture affect what you learned? What behaviors did you change that affected the people around you?

Step 5: Inspire future hopes - where did the story end? Which parts might inspire future generations to try a different approach?

This framework helps authors systematically approach the process of writing their life story by focusing on key aspects that shape and define their narrative.
