Online writing group open to all - Fridays 1-3pm: Creative Cafe
- Debs Penrice
Would you like to join my online writing group, Creative Cafe? Every week, I struggle to find time for my own writing. I have a journal to write in and good intentions to do that daily, as well as work on my books. So, to help me write more regularly - and separately from my former copywriting work, I run Creative Cafe every Friday afternoon from 1-3pm. It's an online call - hosted on Zoom - which anyone can join: you're very welcome.
Whether you’re writing a book, a script, your journal, some blogs or marketing content or doing your admin, you’ll fit right in for our super-relaxed co-working session.
What are the benefits of joining?
We are a friendly group of writers, authors, therapists, business owners and people who work from home, who enjoy:
The accountability of showing up each week to work together on our separate endeavours;
The community because we have a quick chat at the start to get to know each other;
The focus on a specific task or goal because we set our intentions for what we want to write or do before the call starts;
The feeling of achievement from getting stuff done because we all find the two hour session hugely productive.
The call is informal and everyone finds it easy to get on with their own work with their camera on so they know they're in good company. If you'd like to chat to me about your book or your marketing, we can either book a separate call or hop into a breakout room.
How does Creative Cafe work?
Creative Cafe runs every Friday in term time and I take a break once a quarter for the Sales Academy coaching day. At 1pm you can log into the call on Zoom using the Meeting ID and passcode. The Zoom link is the same each week.
We introduce ourselves briefly and talk about what we will be working on today and then we mute our laptops to avoid the clicks from our typing. Grab a tea or a coffee any time!
It's a very flexible, informal session and you're welcome to drop in at any time between 1pm and 3pm, when we say goodbye until next week.
This is not author mentoring. But you can book a 1:1 session with me or Katy Lasseter for help with your writing.
This is not formal networking. But I have met lovely new people and of course, you are welcome to connect with each other. There's a WhatsApp group if you come along regularly.
This is not a sales pitch-fest. But I have referred some of the people to work with each-other.
This year that means it won't run on Friday 20 February or Friday 20 March or at Easter. I do have some flexibility in the school holidays so will keep you posted if it's on. Follow me on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/storyhealingwithdebra/
How much does it cost?
Creative Cafe is free to attend and I'm happy to cover the cost of the Zoom calls. If you'd like to buy me a coffee, I have a link where you can pay any amount, as a one-off donation: https://buy.stripe.com/dR616v56CeAk2oE7ss Thank you!
I look forward to welcoming you at Creative Cafe soon.
